Are you planning to celebrate National Chocolate Pudding Day? First you have to find it. Lately, I've seen variations on bread pudding everywhere. But the only time I see chocolate pudding in a restaurant is on the buffet at a Chinese restaurant.

If you're a fan of this dessert, which I think of as a purely childhood dessert -- probably from all those Jello pudding commercials featuring Bill Cosby -- you'll have to hit a buffet (which uses the canned variety, I suspect), a cafeteria or the refrigerated foods section of your local supermarket. Or you can make it yourself: here's a recipe from the Los Angeles Times that's both bread pudding and chocolate pudding at the same time.

I'd rather eat a chocolate cream pie.
