Just like Santa, a new Chipotle is coming to town. The fast casual Mexican grill is opening a store at 1115 Coronado Drive in Blue Springs on Friday, December 4. People can get a sneak peek on Thursday when it opens for a fundraiser to benefit the Blue Spring High School's Booster Club. All of the proceeds between 5 and 9 p.m. will be donated.
Chipotle is also running specials during the official grand opening. The first 100 customers on Friday get a free T-shirt and a coupon for a free burrito (to be used any time after Friday) and customers after 3 p.m. can enter a drawing to win free burritos for a year.

Hamburger Mary's is planning a mid-month opening at 101 Southwest Boulevard. The made-to-order burger chain, which started in San Francisco in 1972, is preparing to open its first space in Kansas City. The chain is known for its Mary Burger -- a charbroiled, half-pound burger with Mary's special dressing -- and the house chili.
It will be the chain's tenth location. For the latest news, you can follow what's happening on the shop's Facebook page. Perhaps most important: They're currently hiring.

The world of Orange County Choppers comes to the Legends on Monday, December 7, with the grand opening party for Backfire BBQ. Paul Teutul Sr., one of the stars of the reality television show American Chopper, will be on hand to light the barbecue pits beneath a serious collection of NASCAR and motorcycle memorabilia. On Wednesday, Fat City will have a menu preview and interview with restaurant developer Steven Schussler, the idea man behind Rainforest Cafe and the T-Rex Cafe.
