Your Guide to the Weekend

I would like to get to know you! You can meet me at the American Girl Doll Exhibit at Kansas City’s Toy and Miniature Museum (5235 Oak).

Also, I live in a style of house called a “gingerbread house.”
On warm spring days, I like to play outside with my friends; riding my pony, Butterscotch; or toking up. But today is a very special day – it’s the day they’re celebrating my birthday at the Grand Emporium (3832 Main, 816-531-1504). Musical guests are Almost Kiss and Vincent Vega. I won’t fuckin’ be there because I’m meeting Peter Kriss at the Viper Room. Or, shit, we’ll just hit Shoney’s for the 4 p.m. early-bird special. But you should totally go!

Saturday, the Kansas City Rescue Mission needs clean-up volunteers to make the Crossroads Arts District as clean as Grandmary’s house. Volunteers should meet at the Rescue Mission (1520 Cherry, 816-421-7643) at 8:30 a.m. and bring their own broom, shovel and dust pan. Participants get delicious coffee and pastries!

For breakfast each morning, I have a bowl a’ hot Quaker Oats. That’s why it’s so important to check my blood sugar each and every day. See, I got the die-a-beetus. So I know what it’s like to live with a chronic disease. And Saturday is the 19th-Annual Kansas City AIDS Walk. Registration begins at 8 a.m. at Theis Park (47th and Oak). The walk starts at 10 a.m. Get yourself a sponsor, and get your butt in gear – it’s the right thing to do. -- as told to Chris Packham
