  • Rachael Eastland at McCoy’s

    By JEN CHEN

I was in the bathroom at McCoy’s when I saw Rachael Eastland. She was standing by the sinks and fixing her makeup. I felt like a creepy stalker when I asked if I could interview her, but, well, it had to be done. I was intrigued by her outfit, which was basically a short, mauve-colored bodysuit. That’s something I could never pull off – I’d look like a lumpy sausage – and I’m fascinated by people who have the confidence to wear stuff like that.

“It’s a halter top. You can wear it in so many ways,” said the 21-year-old server at Eden Alley. She got the bodysuit at American Apparel (“I love American Apparel!”) and the boots from Arizona Trading Company. The shirt is from Forever 21, and her sparkly tights are from Urban Outfitters. There was one problem to wearing clingy shorts, though: “My butt’s about to hang out of it,” she joked.

Rachael said that when it comes to style, she likes to push things to the limit. “When I get the double-look – ‘What in the hell is that girl wearing?’ – that’s exciting to me,” she said.

Last time I tried to take pictures in the bathroom, it turned out much differently. That "press pass" sure is amazing!
