  • Fiona Rogers and Lucy at the City Market

    Mon Aug 25, 2008 at 11:55:54 AM

    By JEN CHEN

How pretty does Fiona Rogers look? I saw her walking her English Pointer, Lucy, at the City Market on Thursday. I really liked Fiona’s dress, and I had to find out where she bought it.

Turns out the dress is from Steve & Barry’s. She couldn’t remember the name of the store, and after she identified her dress as a Sarah Jessica Parker design, I mistakenly called the place Dave and Barry’s (insert stupid Dave Barry joke here about how something random would make an excellent band name. Guh).

Anyway, I asked her where Steve & Barry’s is located. “I go to the one north of the river. I try not to tell people I go up (north),” she said. The dress cost something like $8.99, she said. It kind of reminded me of an Anthropologie dress, since it looked to be made from a soft cotton material.

The 26-year-old graphic design student and Harry’s Country Club server describes her style as “easy-going comfort. It’s a mix of things – feminine, I suppose.” In her cheap and chic dress, she certainly achieved all of that.

I always call it Dave & Buster's. There's a location at Ward Parkway Mall as well.
