  • Convention Countdown: Demver!

    Thu Aug 21, 2008 at 10:38:45 AM

Attention political junkies! An editor's note:

I'm too cheap to send any of The Pitch's reporters to cover the Democratic National Convention in Denver -- but thankfully I don't need to, because our brilliant, insightful and witty colleagues at The Pitch's sister paper, Westword, are doing such a fabulous job of covering it themselves.

Over at Westword.com, the Demver blog is an up-close view of all the convention doings that could only be provided by reporters who know the city inside and out. Today, we recommend the "DNC Orientation Video: Because you can't get drunk from hope alone."

Also priceless: Cartoonist Kenny Be's take on each state's delegation. I'll now leave you to find detailed descriptions of Kansas and Missouri's here (or watch the slideshow here).

Even Fearless Leader has thrown in the towel. We all know full well that “already lost cause” equates to “too cheap”.

Also, Pitch writers, how do you feel about cartoons replacing “Clothes Whores” and Westword replacing your political commentary? Is Denver the journalistic equivalent as India is to Information Technology? Sadly enough, like India providing IT, the end result is:
    It’s cheaper
    The comments are as unhelpful
It sounds exactly the same coming from there as it does here
