  • Remembering the Business Journal's Jim Davis

    Thu Sep 04, 2008 at 01:39:21 PM

    By DAVID MARTIN

The city lost a good journalist when Jim Davis, a Kansas City Business Journal reporter, died last week of complications from melanoma. Davis covered development with professionalism and aplomb. In 2006, he wrote a two-party story about the obscure but powerful Planned Industrial Expansion Authority that I keep in a three-ring binder, highlighter streaks marking my envy.

The Business Journal ran an editorial in August 29 issue recognizing Davis and his work. Only the first four paragraphs are available to online readers who aren't paid subscribers. I'll read the print version on my next visit to the library. In the meantime, I hope the paper lifts the fire wall so that the editorial, titled "A Life Well Lived," can reach a maximum audience.
