    By JUSTIN KENDALL

It's finally election day. I'm planning on milking those three hours The Pitch gives me to vote. Consider this my advance notice. I'm skipping out, but if you're locked in your cubicle, here's what you should be reading.

Kansas City Star publisher Mark Zieman appears to be registered on both sides of the state line
. Research fiend the Kansas Meadowlark digs up Zieman's voter registration in Kansas City and Overland Park. The Meadowlark doesn't find any evidence of Zieman voting twice in the same election.

Dan from Gone Mild reports that his wife is waiting in a long line at St. Peter's Legacy Center early this morning. Dan says he's voted the precinct for 20 years and has never seen a line stretch out the door.

    Brak gets Pomegranate Pretty's vote.

Tony's Kansas City begs you not to live blog the election. "But for the love of God and Baby Jesus don't labor under the illusion that anyone (not even your relatives) really wants to read your hastily written thoughts regarding election returns." Amen.

You're going to hell if you vote for Barack Obama. Bottomline recaps Bishop Robert Finn's appearance on Chris Stigall's morning show on 710 KCMO. Asked what he would tell Catholics considering voting or Obama, Finn replied: "Give consideration to your eternal salvation." Ouch.

propaganda.jpg Propaganda posters! From Kansas City with the Russian Accent. My favorite: “I am old, and I suggest you pick a candidate as you would pick a son-in-law for your only daughter!” Meesha also finds an American flag on clearance at Target.

Finally, a member of the Phelps family makes a cameo in Pete Yorn's video for "American Blues Vol. 1." Look for the "America is Doomed" sign at the 3:20 mark.

    I'm off to "vote."

Poor Justin. The only thing he got right in his report is that, “It’s finally election day!” The Pitch gives you nothing…it is a state law that your employer allows 3 hours for voting. This is one more hour than Kansans are allowed; presumably because Missourians need more time to sound out words what with their accredited schools and all.

I noted earlier to some friends how the media’s “Obama already won” tune is suddenly silent. One reply was particularly entertaining, and seemed right on to me:

Election day is when the press gets all civic minded and noble, talking about the sancticty [sic] and the privilege and the duty and the honor of voting and the "will of the people" and on and on . . . until around five, when it will be time for reckless speculation [sic] and madness.

    Orphan of the Road says:

Some chicken-nasty put a flier on my windshield that said Democrats vote tomorrow. Those mother-puppies will pay dearly now!!!!

I wish the talking-heads-with-with-capped-teeth-and-hairdos would shut up. Sure they have lots of time to fill between Preperation H commercials but is it really necessary to show how people are willing to be idiots as long as they can be on the T and V????

Thank god Joe can go back to being an unlicensed plumber tomorrow...
