"Body of War" vet to speak after months in recovery
Thu., Dec. 4 2008 @ 1:42PM

With Phil Donahue talking up his film Body of War on national television and the Sundance Channel debuting the stark documentary on the small screen last month, a growing audience has witnessed the shattered life of Tomas Young. But the Northland native who allowed the camera into his most intimate moments for the hard-hitting movie hasn't been seen for months.
That's about to change.
After six months at a rehabilitation facility in Chicago, Tomas Young, an Army veteran who took a bullet in Iraq that confined him to a wheelchair and inspired his vocal opposition to the war, will take questions at the University of Kansas tomorrow evening.
The KU chapter of Iraq Veterans Against the War is hosting a screening of Body of War Friday at 6:30 p.m. in Wescoe Auditorium, Room 3140 (1445 Jayhawk Boulevard, Lawrence). A discussion with Young will follow the film.
