MTV wants your husband
People act like Funkhouser and Squitiro somehow blazed a new trail in embarrassing Kansas City on the national media landscape. The truth is, we've always had hundreds of people lined up, begging to do something horrible in front of America while wearing a Chiefs hat. If you couldn't get on the Real World, or American Idol, here's yet another chance to do something stupid.
A Kansas City, Kansas, business awesomely named The Man Registry is helping MTV cast an upcoming episode of its ongoing documentary True Life. To be fair, this is probably one of MTV's better shows, where people openly deal with challenges such as having an eating disorder or being a single parent.
The Man Registry is going to help MTV find a cast member for an episode called "I'm a Newlywed." This should be easy for the company, since it's an online resource for grooms to register for gifts and take the reigns on wedding planning. The gift registry appears to be its most extensive feature -- helping husbands-to-be get barbecue gear, electronics, sports stuff, and other things they assume their wife won't want. -- Peter Rugg
