Olathe has a Heisman finalist. That is, high school Heisman. Life in SoJoCo points out that Olathe East senior Libby Marden is in the running for the award given out by Wendy's. I'm guessing Marden, a tennis player and cheerleader, didn't get there by eating old fashioned hamburgers (make mine a triple) and frosties.

Missouri state Sen. Jolie Justus blogs her trip to China and mentions an interesting dinner, which included "wine with a snake floating in the bottle." I'm no sommelier, but I'd pass on the wine, Jolie. -- Justin Kendall
