Stealing Time: Kansas City death pool 2008

chalk_outline.jpgKansas City Crime starts the 2008 Kansas City dead pool. "Sorry no prize, just the lingering feeling that you live in one of the most violent places on earth," writes Old Fat Cowboy. "Just the unsettling feeling that you or one of your loved ones may be the next victim of a stray bullet while riding a bus, a stabbing while buying some groceries or a beating while waiting walking in a park." Comforting. So far, no one has taken a guess. And just a tip: Dead pools don't go over so well in this city.

Baby Mangino is everywhere -- now little Bode Lubber is a Christmas tree ornament in a Wisconsin dorm room. I'm never going to get sick of this kid.

Fired Up! Missouri notes that Matt Blunt disagrees with his own budget office over just how much red ink to use when projecting Missouri's budget shortfall. "In a related development, the Capital Police have put the Blunt Administration on murder-suicide watch," Fired Up! Missouri writes. Bet "Baby Blunt" can't wait to get out of office.

Down the Byline continues to be the city's best source for Kansas City Wizards soccer coverage. Down the Byline grades the team, and since none of the guys are named David Beckham or Pele, I have no idea who any of these guys are.
