Kansas GOP answers Sebelius
The Kansas Republican Party is attacking Gov. Kathleen Sebelius' lack of budget solutions in her State of the State address. Hey, she mentioned the word "budget" six times. After the jump, more Kris Kobach (pictured) and Christian Morgan than you can handle.
KS GOP Responds to the State of the State Address
Topeka, KS--The Kansas Republican Party released this statement regarding Governor Sebelius' State of the State address earlier tonight.
Party Chairman Kris Kobach stated, "Sebelius once again displayed her trademark lack of leadership in addressing budget issues. The state is facing a projected shortfall of over a billion dollars in FY 2010, yet she offered few if any solutions in her address tonight. She seems incapable of even suggesting any of the tough decisions that must be made in the months ahead--Either that or she favors a massive tax increase to balance the budget."
Executive Director Christian Morgan added, "This is a clear of case of too little too late. Perhaps if the Governor had spent more time in the State over the last eleven months, she wouldn't be gasping at straws now.
"It's grossly negligent for the Governor to gloss over the budget issues facing our state in while spending an exorbitant amount of time creating new commissions and groups to research possible solutions to possible problems that lie ahead. The budget crisis is the most pressing issue for this state, and from what the Governor said tonight, it's apparent that the Republican led legislature will have to once again step up and lead the state out of the budget crisis."
