Missouri Matters: Missouri politics' Facebook

EdMartinPhoto2.jpgForget Facebook and MySpace, Missouri political junkies. Scooter Jackson, the man behind the not-at-all-Republican Missouri Political News Service, has started a social networking site for Missouri politicos called Missouri Matters. So far, 163 people have signed up. Hey, who wouldn't want to be friends with Matt Blunt's former chief-of-staff Ed Martin (pictured)? Except for maybe, Scott Eckersley. But at least that whole e-mail lawsuit is finally settled.

Update: Scooter Jackson sent me a message explaining why he started the site, saying he "wanted to create an online 'community' where all of our readers -- both Republican, Democrat and Independent -- could talk politics and really get to know each other by sharing family pictures and videos of their political experiences.

"Social networking sites are the 2.0 version of the old fashioned computer chat rooms of the '90s. Hopefully in our own small way, we can help break the gridlock of the fierce partisanship that has been dividing our state and nation for far too long."  -- Justin Kendall
