Monster to eat you, most of Kansas

We love a good horror movie, and the best, most affecting, are often the low-budget ones that come out of nowhere. See the production histories of Night of the Living Dead, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Halloween for further reference on that. This is why we're pulling for Lawrence-based SenoReality Pictures, who've got a movie called Nailbiter that they plan to finish this summer. The teaser trailer is already getting attention from gore hounds across the nation via horror sites like Dread Central and Fangoria.

The trailer lets us know two things that promise horror. The first is that something's busting a chain off a wall, and we're hoping that when we see that something it'll be big, horribly deformed and have a taste for the flesh of babies. The second is that Kansas' weather will menace the victims almost as much as whatever beast is unleashed. Do you doubt the awesome power of a low-pressure front in the Midwest? Do we have to again refer you to Katie Horner?

We're also hopeful beause SenoReality has done well with a small scale before, getting films into the Fangoria Weekend of Horrors film festival. Plus, their shorts aren't all about terrifying you; some use humor to great effect. Call us when it premiers, guys.
