I think you all should get your information straight , the lady who got shot was an innocent by stander. Mr. Muzquiz was shot at first, then used self -defness in this case. He was stood up by people who were already in the bar armed and their are witness to prove that these "unknown" men were plotting to kill Mr. Muzquiz. So get your shit straight Justin Kendall. Then you would have a better job and not stuck writing for some Pitch paper that noone reads.

I don't really care who shot first. All I care about is that there are 3 babies with out a mom because you dumbass people don't care about no one but your self. I think he should of died not her. I understand that a beautiful woman lost her life. I also am very sadden that only one person has been charged. apparantly there were other shooters. KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A 21-year-old man from Gladstone, Mo., was charged Monday in connection with a weekend triple shooting.

Police charged Vincent Muzquiz with unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action.
Investigators say he shot a woman during a fight just before midnight Friday night at 2855 Southwest Blvd. The woman was expected to recover.

Rebecca Amparen-Chacon, 26, was also shot and died at the scene. No charges have been filed in her death. Divers searched a pond at Penn Valley Park for any evidence over the weekend.

According to police, it appears Muzquiz was involved in a disturbance with another unknown male which is what led to the shooting. Muzquiz was also shot, but is recovering.

Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at (816) 474-TIPS.

To everyone saying I don't have my facts straight, I wrote straight from the probable cause statement. I never said he was charged with murder. I wrote that Vincent was charged with "unlawful use of weapons (drive-by shootings) and armed criminal action."

The probable cause statement says that a witness told police that he saw a woman attempt to calm down Vincent "when she was shot by 'Big V.'" The witness then identified Vincent R. Muzquiz as "Big V." Also, detectives who interviewed Muzquiz said that Muzquiz told them "that during the initial gunfire he may have shot [the woman], however he wasn't positive. Muzquiz said he ran toward the rear of the business and fired three more shots and he may have struck Chacon, however he wasn't positive."

First, I will start off by saying that my heart goes out to ALL of the victims of this shooting, whether they have died or have been seriously wounded. It is sad to see innocent people affected by something they had absolutely nothing to do with. People are repeating what they hear but are afraid to tell where you heard it from.
If it was you how sure would you be if you hurt someone, how many times has so many things been going on at one time you couldn't tell left from right or up from down. To those of you who are taking up for this monster, I will pray for you as well as him. I don't know why crazy people are allowed to have guns, but they are. All I know is that our family is hurting so badly from this tragedy. My sister, her mother, is hurting so badly and wondering what she could have done differently. No one is beating down my door to tell me what they observed. I am the case detective on Ms. Chacon's case. Feel free to come talk to me. This is an on-going investigation and it takes time to talk to everyone. If you let men in your establishment carry around a loaded weapon with your consent and then someone gets shot and murdered. They knew what was going to happen. Jackson county will be keeping a close watch on this place. There will be no more drugs in their to attract people and no more underage business to support the place. This sucks for jesses....

I am so sorry and saddened to hear of another tragedy, especially in our Mexican community. To the family of Rebecca, I pray that God gives you the strength to deal with this horrible time in your lives. I pray that God watches over those babies and that their mommy's memories are kept alive. I have 3 children and could not imagine them and my husband having to go on without me.
I try to learn from others' mistakes, so I don't have to make them. It is sad to say that this tragedy is just another reminder of where NOT to go. I enjoy going out, but I hardly ever go on the blvd. I realize that no one or no place is immune to this, but I know where my chances increase; sadly, it's in my own community. You are right, there are honest and hard working people on the Westside; my family is from there. EVERYONE involved in this case must be brought to justice. Vincent may be a good person, as many of you have blogged. I am sure he was. You obviously have reason to say that. To those that know what happened, what if Rebecca was your mother, sister, aunt, daughter, niece, wife, mother of your children, or best friend? Internalize that, seriously! Take a moment to really think about that. Close your eyes and put yourself in the family's shoes. Wouldn't you want the culprits caught? No one really knows....

I agree with you all that are complaining about the Pitch allowing this blog to happen. I myself have tried to take action and call the Pitch to chat with the publication director and tried to ask him to shut it down however I was told that by law they are not allowed to do so. However He did say that he does not oppose this feature but by law he cannot do that and hope that it will be shut down some day.

Pitch now your getting a mouth full.. so please help us out... This is not fair to me or to those good hearted natives of the community that do not live this life style.

Parents of the community I call on you to step up to the plate to nurture and teach your children to become good human beign so that our children could have a better life here and wait until God is ready to call on us.

all of this back & forth talking about who knows what, who started what & all the name dropping is RIDICULOUS! everyone has an opinion but no one (to my knowledge) is coming forward to help the authorities get to the bottom of this. muzquiz sits in jail because he did have a role in the tragic event that happened friday night. whether he is the ONLY person that should be sitting in jail is another issue. i feel for muzquiz's family as they wait & wonder what will happen with their loved one. my heart goes out to the family & friends of rebecca chacon. i never knew her but the things said about her are very loving and kind. it seems that she was caught in the middle of complete NONSENSE. and to the person who said she should have been home taking care of her kids instead of being out....you should be ashamed of yourself. there are people greiving for this women, her children will forever miss her and all you can say is some bullshit statement like that. well, that's a dummy for you. people like you who aren't about shit always find comfort in trying to bring others down.

For people to degrade people that they do not know or to make assumptions, PLEASE GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT. As for those that think they know what really happened in this situation, if you were'nt there to know what exactly went down than lets not run your mouths about the he said, she said crap. Please people have some respect for those that are hurting and grieving. if you were there and do not what happened please speak up that way these families that are grieving can have a closure.
