Last night, Daily Show host Jon Stewart admitted that calling President Harry Truman "a war criminal" "was a stupid thing to say."
The night before, Stewart made the comment when discussing torture with Cliff May, president of The Foundation for Defense of Democracies. May asked Stewart if Truman was a war criminal for using the atomic bomb. "Yes," Stewart responded. Here's the video (and it comes at the 5:50 mark):
Local blogger Nick Sloan has a good defense of Truman's decision.
Last night, Stewart came to his senses. Apology accepted, Jon.
