Bill O'Reilly pummels Mary Sanchez for defending Bill O'Reilly

Fox News blowhard Bill O'Reilly is still trying to clear his conscience in the wake of the assassination of abortion provider George Tiller. He's still feeling awfully guilty for repeatedly referring to the doctor as "Tiller the baby killer." After Tiller was gunned down in a Wichita church, O'Reilly claimed he'd never referred to Tiller as "the baby killer," attributing the moniker to anti-abortion groups.

Enter Kansas City Star columnist Mary Sanchez to O'Reilly's defense. No, really:

Not long after news of the murder hit the Internet, liberal bloggers had assembled a video montage of Bill O'Reilly repeating "Tiller the Killer" on various broadcasts, along with other choice bits of blood-curdling vituperation. The point was to demonstrate that O'Reilly, by endlessly calling Tiller a killer, was culpable for inspiring Roeder's act of murder. I hate to be in the position of defending O'Reilly, but what he is guilty of is the lesser charge of propagating ignorance on an important issue.
Last night, Sanchez appeared in the "no spin zone" and O'Reilly wasn't exactly grateful as Sanchez, from the "far left" newspaper, expressed her opposition to all abortions.

Transcript and video after the jump!

After Sanchez said abortion was "about people making horrible decisions," O'Reilly corrected her.

"This isn't a discussion about Roe v. Wade or abortion at all. This is a discussion about a man in Kansas ..."

"Tiller isn't about abortion?"

"No, he's not," O'Reilly said. "He's about late-term abortion for trivial reasons."

"Actually, I think they did a lot of abortions there."

"Far and away different than Roe v. Wade," O'Reilly continued, talking over Sanchez. "One of four doctors in the country. Only four."

"No, it's part of it," Sanchez said.

"No, that's all of it," O'Reilly snapped.

"An abortion is an abortion," Sanchez said. "Can you agree with me that an abortion is the ending of a life? So it is about that."

"Ah, you know it's not my job to get involved in semantics," O'Reilly said. "I always say, because this is irrefutable, it's the ending of a potential life. But after the fetus is a viable human being ..."

"It's the ending of a life," Sanchez corrected.

"After it's a human being, it better be catastrophic, and Tiller was aborting for any and all reasons for money and that's what was happening," O'Reilly said. "And my reporting was accurate. Thank you for appearing, madame."
