The PT Cruiser is the official car of choice for crime sprees on June 19, 2009

Missed the notice that last night was steal a PT Cruiser and go on a crime spree night. The Kansas City Star lists off three armed robberies from the early morning hours. There was the good old fashioned gas station robbery by three guys in bandannas at 945 South 55th Street. That was followed by the theft of a rental car and the robbery of a business at 900 North Fifth Street. Then three cool cats in a PT Cruiser robbed a couple in the 1800 block of North 76th Drive. No word on whether they were wearing pleated pants, sweater vests and suede bucks.

But wait! That wasn't the only robbery last night involving the always cool PT Cruiser. Twitter addict and KMBC anchor Kris Ketz tells us that three guys allegedly carjacked a PT Cruiser, robbed a McDonald's at 14th and Prospect, ran from police and crashed at Victor and Indiana. Police ran down two of the guys and a police dog got the third.

Congratulations on stealing the lamest car ever. At least it didn't have wood paneling.
