Wayward Advent Calendar: "And that's how I found out there was no Santa Claus."

My favorite Christmas movie of all time is Gremlins.

Wait, no -- second favorite. Die Hard is number one.

Anyhow, it's my second favorite Christmas movie because not only does it contain blood, gore, and dark humor (all of which are earmarks of something I will not only own on DVD, but quote incessantly), but it manages to keep a certain amount of holiday spirit about it. Hoyt Axton sets the scene, but Zach Galligan's Billy Peltzer will just not let the season die, despite such things as townspeople being massacred, or this joyous little monologue from Phoebe Cates' Kate Beringer.
